I reckon I've read somewhere a communication from the ATO effectively saying that ceasing a pension soon after commencement would be treaded with suspicion (not their exact words, but the intent).
No indication of time period, but within a few months, without any change in personal circumstances would be a bit suss, I think. Especially if a big CGT bill was avoided within that timeframe.
