What you are doing is fine. Disposing and reacquiring your assets starting a new time line.

The issue that @hermans appears to be at odds with is that of disposing of your assets to realise a loss which would be used to offset other CGT eligible income.

Most particularly @hermans appears to be of the opinion that disposing and reacquiring those same asset to do such thing would be deemed illegal and that of tax avoidance as opposed to tax minimization.

Unfortunately @hermans cannot provide anything to support their position which has the potential to mislead investors.
