The tax system in its current form is actually screwing the majority of people and unfairly weighted to the more affluent with the gap between rich and poor growing. This is manifested no more clearly than in the housing affordability crisis where the LNPs tax policies have contributed largely to runaway house prices. Young people are catching onto this now as they find themselves uable to afford to buy a house. The older crowd who have benefited from the skewed system don't want to give up their gains which is expected and which is why there has been a bit of a stale mate going on. As time goes by, more young people want change and the shift is beginning to happen now.
