    The "high earners" you mention in most cases don't deserve their high salaries/wages due to lack of competence, work, contribution, ability and merit. How they became high earners is because of many flaws in the system. We all know many people making huge salaries who don't deserve it any more than many others making way less. Reasons like favouritism/bias, out of date laws, unequal opportunity, employment system design etc., tax policy, corporate culture, lots of bs account for this. So please don't use the word "earn" because most rich people didn't "earn" their wealth. They achieved it through a multitude of inequitable flaws in the system. What we need to reform is those flaws so that the high earners actually do earn. If that happens, then maybe I'll agree with you that they don't deserve to be taxed any higher than anyone else.
