seems very reasonable to me.

The only thing missing is commentary re penalties imposed (which are by and large premised on the (ATO's) conclusion that CFE was 'reckless' in its tax lodgement). A waiver would have been very well received. As it is they are at least deferred pending resolution ... 3 years out

Clearly CFE has the view that it is correct in its lodgement and prepared to resolve in court over the years to come. Great. Hopefully in the meantime the MCC debacle will be concluded in which case it will only be an issue of legacy penalties.

I would not have sold on this news personally ...
