PRIME Minister Kevin Rudd racked up a massive $29,676 phone bill in just six months as a backbencher - dwarfing every Government minister as he worked the phones.
And Foreign Minister Bob Carr spent an amazing $721,576 on foreign travel, in what may be a record spend for any Australian MP over a six-month period.
Unless the rules get changed, it's a merry go round. Don't like drunks? Ban alchohol. Don't like excessive travel expenses? Pass a bill.
Think Labor will support it?
Now we're getting somewhere.......
I'm all for pollies travelling Europe on a buss pass, if it will help somehow. But change the rules to make em do it. Or stop whingeing.
