I hope you have a good Christmas. Obesity is only one factor in diabetes & genetic factors as well for Type2 DM. Kidney failure can have many causes, diabetes is one & a major cause of ESRD in countries such as the USA & also here in Australia.
Even viral infections can be an instigator for Type1 DM especially children. It’s not always lifestyle factors that cause this.
We are targeting Type 2DM in current trials. I think for a lot of ethnicities, the incorporation of a Western diet really hasn’t helped (ie white bread & cheap carbs). It is a global problem, & I know you have had some interest here & PIQ, so good to hear you have done some reading & Hi back at you.
