There have been 4 ministers (Labor) that have had dealings with T card.

Yes ERG under Fogarty bid on 70 different, inequitable, and contradictory fare structures in Sydney. They had no idea how difficult this was .
Cubic was bidding basically the same amount and lost out on technology issues.
There was no inflation escalator in the bid .
Mr Watkins boasts that so far only $5M has been paid to ERG, but makes no comment on why the govt has not bit the bullet and opted for a distance zonal system that all their committees have recommended.
The reason is simple. There would be winners and losers.
The losers would the longer distance travellers. And guess in which electorates they live in?
    Blue Mountains, Western suburbs

The silence of the opposition is amazing when you consider that in 1995 they concluded a very successful scard trial with ERG in Newcastle.

Through all this ERG has not 'squealed' once.

In May 2007 Mr Watlkins after getting highly expensive legal advice instructed the PTTC to break off co-operation with ERG.
That was effective cancellation of the contract.
This has allowed the full glare of public scrutiny on the progress of the project....

And as the SMH writer says.................

    It takes two to Tango
