Pigofsteel - it was so long ago, but this is my memory:

* rang commsec
* they emailed me the ACAT forms to be completed
* I emailed back and they submitted
* got held up because Commsec didn't give me a W-8BEN form
* filled this extra form in and submitted

I remember having to ask about having a Tax ID to fill in the W-8BEN. Amstock told me "you don't need. Since you have a foreign status a tax ID number is not applicable. Commsec can then request the transfer via DRS using 999999999 in the tax ID field."
