    NZ Windfarms said its Te Rere Hau wind farm near Palmerston North is now connected to the national grid.

    The company said a transmission cable and reticulation assets had been commissioned.

    The new line will enable all the power from the project to be exported to the grid and is a significant step forward in the Te Rere Hau development.

    NZ Windfarms has a 50 percent stake in the project, with the other 50 percent owned by NP Power and Babcock and Brown Wind Power.
