Experiment:

Take a brown papaer packet, make sure rhe sun is shining and it's midday, open the packet checking that the sun shines into it, now seal it fast ensuring that no sunlight escapes.
Wait until the sun goes down and carefully open the packet in a dark room. Note down the amount of sunlight in the packet and report back.
