@moondoong; public school teachers don't make decisions about their working conditions or their remuneration; they're dickated by politicians.

Tehan just dicktated that taxpayer-funded private schools have to open, that after doing absolutely nothing when they closed long before public schools did at the start of March and despite the hollow, grandstanding threats from Morrison and himself.

Morrison is even yet to detail whether or not his kids have returned to school after they went MIA from the time the crisis began to unfold. He's been irresponsibly quiet about the status of the taxpayer-funded private school his kids are supposed to attend.

It's my view that once we stop allowing those wretched bluddy planes from overseas bringing in COVID-19 infected people [now 6 weeks after Morrison supposedly closed our borders] that there should be a phased resumption of school that at first welcomes back Year 10-12 at the secondary level and Preps - Year 2 at primary school.

    Meanwhile pollies have to:
. GREATLY increase the miserable cleaning budgets they've slashed and burned from school budgets for decades.
. Provide COPIOUS amounts of hand sanitiser that enables kids to treat their hands at every lesson change.
. Provide external door access for all classrooms - exhausting air outside instead of into crowded corridors.
. Guarantee all school staff of free health care in the event of becoming C19 infected - including those 40% of staff employed as 'casuals'.

Pollies were lightning quick to close down Parliament because of the fears they had for THEMSELVES, it's about bluddy time they showed a similar respect for the lives of kids, teachers and their parents.
