I have a few teacher friends and they say that the paperwork they have to do for compliance has gone completely over the top in recent years. On top of that they are subject to regular audits by the department and the auditors always find something wrong.
I am told teachers now spend as much time doing departmental paperwork as they do actually teaching.
It appears that the bureaucracy which so interferes with other enterprises has caught up with teaching.
