Kevi, no doubt other indicators have some predicitve use, but IMO volume plays a key role in flagging entries or exits of interest before the "real action" commences.
Check BCC the week before the price spike. Abnormal vol while insiders set themselves before the gap up and large rise the following week. Even the week before that saw abnormal trading activity.
Alternatively check TSV in the 2 days prior to its TH, increasing solid volume in solid black candles while insiders exit before the plunge, a claer signal to bail. Many many more examples to support this view as Im sure there are other indicators that could achieve similar results. Id say volume is a key precursor in many trading strategies and a lot more than just ST trading opps, but again thats just me.
vol is just as useful over longer timeframes to assess accumulation and distribution of stocks across small caps tto blue chips. Vol lends credence to potential longer term trend changes and asessing the reliability of breaks in support / resistance lines etc etc.
But again as long as youre making money its a matter of each to their own method.
