Big Un
Listed video technology firm Big Un’s transformation from a penny stock to a company whose shares hit an all-time high of $4.58 in November is the stuff micro-cap dreams are made of.
Big Un, founded by 19-year-old Brandon Evertz, with a $500 loan, runs the Big Review TV platform that lets small businesses (cafes, beauty salons) craft online video and social media to attract customers.
It listed on the ASX in 2012 at 23c and is trading at over $3 as demand for the service continues to increase. With a market cap of $500m, the company is cashflow positive and posted total cash revenue of $21.5m in fiscal 2017, compared with the $4m posted a year earlier. The strong revenue growth plus a global focus seem to be working for the company.
