It's not as bad as the ABC in the sense that it's not a national, taxpayer-funded media company with a charter specifically enjoining it to be unbiased. CNN can be biased too, if it likes, it's just that it tries to pass off incredibly biased commentary as impartial news. For example, rather than reporting: "If climate change is as bad as some scientists predict, their research predicts the world's population could be in danger" they'll say something like: " *Given* that climate change is a threat to humanity, scientists say we must act now to prevent catastrophe." The distinction between those two statements is the problem.
Or how about: "The man stared into the camera waving a bloody knife and said 'We will never stop fighting you, Allahu Akbar. Remove your governments.' But the motives remain unclear..." < That's an example from the BBC, but you see what I'm getting at. They take an event and add their spin to it, whilst still purporting to be neutral.
