In a bull market, you can buy nearly anything and make money.
In a bear market, nearly anything you buy will have you losing money.
So to make money in the long run, better to study macro and conditions. Micro-analysing companies is noob level 100.
Of course, most of you won't be able to take this in which is why most people lose in the market.
