Things learnt from conference:
-America tests differently to our Drs, Aus Drs are more confident to make a diagnoses based on blood samples, xrays and observation, however American Drs tend to focus on Xrays,
-Germany are about to begin testing using our method of testing and not USA,
-Quickly learnt during the trials how easy Asthma, lower and higher tract disease was for the app to diagnose verses pneumonia and bronchitis, and in hindsight should have just applied for Asthma, lower and higher as that is where the money is, Telehealth couldnt care less about pneumonia as its not a common disease,
-In addition it becomes harder for adjudicators to test for 6 different cough types, if you were looking for just Asthma you could rule out the others every time as thats all your looking for or vice versa, but if you have 6 different options it makes the adjudication so much harder
-There are no ties to Belinda and Bill Gates foundation, the only obligation is should they be successful for pneumonia they shouldnt outprice the developing world.. aka you cant charge what you would charge developed countries,
-Could sign with telehealth right away but no point right now to appease market when you can wait a couple of months for FDA approval for alot more $$
- If in 33% of the time a Dr still cant decide, helps for regulatory approval to say that Drs are not that accurate,
-No such thing as the magic 75% needed to acheive FDA approval, figure was based on research RAP did, you just need to prove that you are more accurate or the same accuracy as a doctor,-
-Confident croup results will turn out okay as its easier for Drs to recognise,
IMO, its been a very big overreaction, they got very high % of good diagnoses to diseases that telehealth companies actually want to test over the phone, the dataset for pneumonia was only 50 out of 1400 for example, its not common for a child to have, definitely a different story for old people but we wer'nt testing for that....
There is still big news to come with FDA submission and hopefully approval which will lead to $$ early next year
