I get this a lot at Westpac but there is a way around it. It's usually according to them a result of low liquidity and the spread not just purely the spread. They suggested when making the bid to do it then adjust the bid price in some way. Must agree it seems like arse but they claim it's to protect the purchaser and make the market safe from manipulation. haha good luck with that
