Imo:
Facts are:
All this noise will become boring (as it is now) and the issue will slowly go away with an out-of-court settlement of a size palatable to the Bank.
Agree with the poker machine analogy - Smart crooks don't launder money directly thru banks. When it all comes out in the wash I bet there are no 'confirmed' dollars gone into terrorism, which is what we are all mostly concerned with. Drug pushers and other crooks have been laundering money for eons (Miami USA was built on drug cash)
The bank still makes a great profit with a fully franked div yielding over 5% and projected growth in profit of 12% over 3 years.
The country is awash with baby boomers who are fiddling with their own SMSF's and are fully attached to the dividend as income they live on. Fund Managers are largely conservative with other peoples money and, although CBA is prob expensive, so is CSL, COH, and many many others. Guess what - so are Mercedes Benz, but people still buy them, and for a good reason.
This, so called, property bubble is only in Sydney and Melb, the rest of Australia is not anything like a bubble, they are going sideways, at best!
Interests rates will, undoubtedly, rise but very slowly. Very few people default on small rises anyway. What do you pay first out of your income? - Rent and/or mortgage!
Also, Banks, since the GFC, have been lending with potential rate rises calculated for.
The biggest threat is keeping people in work - ban Trumpy's Amazon - he's a hypocrite when he's happy to have his hand in our pockets and then slams the Jerry's for being in his! haha
Just go back to bed tonight people and sleep comfortably with your CBA shares.
As one person here said -great buying at $76!
