it was good meeting up at the AGM blurrt

I am not sure what Eni's plans would be from here. The info we are being fed by MEO is being vetted by Eni so all we have is an outline of the results.

The CEO, in his comments, states:

'accessing enhanced permeability through natural fractures which appear to be absent at the Heron South-1 location ..... Following testing, we need to fully integrate the well results to determine whether the Heron South structure has the potential for areas of improved reservoir productivity.'

This is evident in the low flow results. The gas is there but the location of the HS1 well does not have any natural fractures.

I seem to remember somebody saying it is a pity Eni didn't drill a directional well in the Plover. I think they had difficulty with what they were faced with as the well became unstable so they tried the best with what they had.

They now need to complete the production test of the upper zone and take all the results to determine how to move on. This is the first time the Plover has been breached to any extent in this area so they will have learned a lot from the HS1 campaign to take forward.

If they do elect to drill H4 it will probably be at Heron North, IMO. In this area the Plover is not as deep. Wherever they drill they will be checking the seismic to see if there are any sweet spots where natural fractures may occur. MEO have indicated there are areas of low impedance at HS but I thought they would have picked one of these areas for HS1, maybe they did?

As far as fracking I think this is a possibility. With Eni I don't think it is the quality of gas but rather a large quantity of recoverable gas. Fracked reservoirs tend to be depleted more quickly so it become a question of economy of scale. Eni would have the technology and expertise.

In their EP application Eni included: 'Stage 16 - Activity: 'Well test, possibly including hydraulic stimulation.' So they are geared up for tight reservoirs but this is impossible using a 41/4in slotted liner.

A piece about fracking can be found in this Rigzone article:

    * What is tight gas *

The Plover was tight at Lyndoch 1 & 2 but they measured flow rates of 25 MMscf/d and 33 MMscf/d in the Evans Shoal 2 and Caldita 1 discovery wells so Eni will probably have more luck at ES.

I am still wondering about the Epennara which is supposed to hold ~5-6Tcf GIP. It wasn't a target in this drill but has been talked about in the past.

I don't think we have heard the last of Heron yet but then I am over optimistic, so I am told.

    Lets hope the frigate flows.
