Of course when towing you'll use more "juice", however having double the consumption looks a bit too much. I expect the EV to behave much better than gas powered engine car and these are my reasons:
    - The major contributor to this high consumption would be the fact that you are using lower gears more often when towing due to the nature of the combustion engine usual response.
    - We need to remember the consumption usually doubles on low speed (using 4th gear instead of 6th) and in the 1st gear is about 8-10 times higher due to the less milage for the same number of revs (gas burned)
    - EV are not suffering the same issue; the factors would be proportional with the effort (wind resistance, speed) and it would be much more efficient from this point of view as it doesn't burn energy just to spin the motor.
    - Compared with the gas powered car, the EV seems a bit odd at first when you think it has longer range in the city than on the highway . Yes, this is true due to the much higher wind resistance on high speed. We got used with the opposite just because the usual (gas powered) cars are extremely inefficient at low speed due to the fact they have to use lower gear ratios

As a conclusion: when towing, I expect to have an increase in consumption but on a smaller rate than a gas powered car has.
