    No doubt there are some excellent trading books out there, and I could list quite a few of my favourites, but even though they are old books, they describe the basic patterns well, and when I completed my diploma in TA in 2011 they were still recommended as basic reading.

    Once the basic patterns are known, then one can venture into candlesticks/renko/kagi/point and figure, SDA and the more esoteric approaches such as gann and EWT.
