BLOG, I agree with everything you have said. The market can stay irrational longer than you can remain solvent. However in my story of holding IDC I sold them because my brother needed a deposit for a house in the UK (family comes first).
I weighed up all my investments at the time, and with IDC having a time frame of around 2015/16 until production I was happy that I could buy back before they started rising in price. I've been lucky that I've been able to buy back at average of 31% discount.

I have other investments; rental property, shares, gold and silver but I thought IDC was the best and easiest to liquidate at the time. I hold very little money in the bank (not enough to fund a deposit in the UK), but that's my choice. Money in the bank doesn't work for me enough.

On the subject of $1, that's what I personally think IDC will be worth. I've been in the game long enough to see dog stocks that have nothing go past a $1 (GDN was good one lol) so when I say I think it will reach a $1 I truly believe it.
I'm a geologist, I know about geology (not so much gold but I know enough people that do). And if you look at grades of some of the major mines around the World they would be happy with what IDC are showing at Mt Kare. The big boys in town who are all about numbers and profit know about this.... hence why IDC are continuously backed when they need cash.

When the big boys need opinions they pay for the best knowledge. Why do you think that IDC suddenly got Anthony W Burgess as their Geologist? It's because he was the chief Geologist for Barrett at Porgera, and as a consultant he has to get it right (I also wonder who is actually paying him?). So I believe him when he says that there is a mountain full of gold just like Porgera.

So to say there is no evidence that we could ever reach $1 is just wrong, just like it's right of you to say that IDC could be write off. Getting the cornerstone investor that we need could be one step closer to that $1 or as you say if we don't then it could be a write off. Thankfully I'm prepared for both.
