Do not forget that there are I think 5 tracking stocks. Two in US lysdy and cf The market makers have to add and subtract shares to keep the price close. They are allowed to hold extra shares. The rules on how many they can short. Again it makes for some interesting patterns but if not for tracking shares few US investors or French German and UK could invest.
