I suppose that's a possible reason.
However, I note that last year 1-month before the dividend on 08/11/10, that the price actually started from 23.40 went down to 22.30 and came back to 23.40 for the dividend.
Today's price is $24.90, being significantly higher than price of $23.40 to receive the dividend last year.
What has changed? Has the consensus for westpac significantly changed in this time?
