It can't be just activated carbon as that allows 30%-40% of ozone through. Activated carbon is used to lower ozone from low level emitters like air pollution from car exhaust into buildings etc.

I think the Unicorn hooves is belittling the overall process they have come up with, as I'm sure they added some fairy dust as well.
