Hi guys and gals - I have a simple question
what is the difference between an MP3 decoder and an CDplayer?
the reason I am asking is:
1 year ago I bought a cheap replacement for my wonderful Bang & Olufsen CDplayer which included: radio, recording ability, tape cassette, plus copy function and I kept the wonderful B&O speakers, which are still good and I re-connected to a cheap set, namely a small boxy thing brand name: LENNOXX, which also has had a Radio, a record (vinyl) player, radio cassette player and an MP3decoder - on which I managed to play many normal CDs, which was initially o.k. then the READ function took longer, but eventually ceased altogether -
NOW: nada, nix nothing - no CDs nor MP3s can be played - which is a bit of a bummer, as I like to play music when I have dinner guests etc.

the brand is  Lennoxx  and it was dirt cheap (a bit over $200)

I now checked the description and it only says 'MP3 decoder' and no mention of normal CD - I wonder if I mucked it up by playing CDs.
Please reach into your rich depository of useful information and impart such - or any - information to an ever grateful
    Taurisk
