Last night Teck Cominco made a bid for Fording Coal. Fording have total reserves of 3,800 m / tonnes. Based on the bid price of $14.1b the price per tonne is $3.70.
If I multiply $3.70 by CDS total reserves of 738 m/tonnes then I get a value of $2.7 Billion dollars. This compares to a current market cap for CDS of $140m. Even if we assume a 50% discount then CDS is a 10 Bagger from here.......
