But I'm going with an absolute here. I'm with you on the journey part and because I'm an empathetic animal, even if I wanted to shag myself silly and be a devil-may-care sort of fellow, at the end of the day I felt deeply for my fellow humans and could not use them too much for self gratification.
I have always expected too much.
From my earliest memories I have been facinated by my own death after seeing myxo kill hundreds of rabbits on the family farm as a 4 year old. I've nearly died a couple of times and it's okay, so death is not the problem.
Regardless of my memory, which is just a function of the brain, is there more to me as a human than any other animal? Do I have an eternal spirit? I think I do. Not because I want it so, rather because I think I have experienced an aspect of my spirit, without which life has been pointless.
