    Well the Germans didn't use any money according to Tacitus, and yet we know that they traded. So they traded, and yet they had no concept of money. Well now if you are going to call that barter, well it didn't create any need for money? You just got through telling me that basically ALL people have used money since right back into the paleolithic, that's what your authors are claiming without evidence I might add. Well according to Tacitus the Germans didn't know about money until they came into contact with the Romans.
