When NZ in 1967 converted their currency to a decimal base, they had a new shiney dollar. Now it is a tarnised bit of junk worth less than 2 cents of its former value. This is how Governments rob the people while they sleep, but note how the politicians get their income automatically updated every year to match inflation. The big con starts there. Any guesses what the US dollar will be worth in 10 years time with the current rate of money printing. If you own gold, or what ever commodity you pick then who cares what the value of gold is today. It really doesnt matter. If you own some in 10 yrs time or whenever you need it then see what your nest egg is worth.
Thats my opinion for what its worth
