Rather than an alternative to a traditional technology they should have developed the APP to identify sounds in the lungs rather than a cough.

The doctor could simply listen using the stethoscope and the RAP technology could back up the doctors analysis .

The combination of the stethoscope,the RAP technology and the doctors knowledge could have diagnosed pneumonia etc in one action.

This would have overcome the problems encountered with the trial in the USA emergency departments etc.

The sounds would not be compromised by outside hospital noise.
