Trying to do anything with large health groups is difficult at the best of times. Add an enormous profit hit, and the fact that COVID is only 1-2 weeks away from overwhelming Perth, at a time when there is no health staff available anyway, makes funding innovations orders of magnitude harder. Still, hope remains, I suppose.
I am not looking forward to seeing the Perth hospitals and our excellent staff crash, which seems pretty likely in February/March. Not from overwhelming numbers of sick people but because there will be very few staff to do the job. On the other hand, getting it over with before winter seems preferable.
