well my idea is that with eqx recent preso they are building the dream of a bigger rail capacity next to existing one. With aki holding some good land grab, eqx bought 19.9% of aki, swapped blacrock/jp morgan shares in aki and both black n jp keep buying aki.
Aki have to spend estimated 100 mill on port, tony sage commented in media that someone (eqx) would buy them, so he MAY be bumpiing up his price to sell.
Does a major like the idea of eqx and aki existing rail and possible share in upgraded rail? If yes, then they may JV aki with eqx...
one possible idea and a real possibility, otherwise eqx bought into aki to stop a major doing just that...CONTROL
