Sounds like the PC crowd has decided it is racist to describe a group of trees as a "bush".

As for 1770 while it does have a fish and chip shop and a Thai restaurant which I am sure Captain Cook and co would have enjoyed going to while their ship was repaired (apparently to dispute the restaurant's existence would be akin to saying Aborigines weren't there), I would still describe the place as bush.
