I would like to know what prices TTY (or Noble) are presently obtaining and what grades they are selling (I suspect that there is some mixing of lower grades) - but I don't anticipate we will be told. Some on this thread may remember the time when a similar (entire) commentary on TTY was simply deleted without explanation.
There have been many excuses from the company as to why profits were not up to expectations but there cannot be any excuses this quarter as iron ore prices have increased from a good price as at 1.1.10 (as Rocket reminds us) and the $A has been reasonably stable.
As to the March quarter profit the maths should not be too complicated a guess: approx 550,000 tonnes per quarter x ?? per tonne profit plus payment from Monarch on 26.2.10($5.7 m). The debt as at 1.1.10 was $US43.4m plus pre-payment of iron ore sales of $A7.4m. The operating profit should (must?) be above $20 million for the quarter.
I would like to know what prices TTY (or Noble) are presently...
