isn't the issue that regardless of the ignition source, the area is drier/warmer than it has been historically and therefore fires are massive and out of control? We just went through all this in Australia over Christmas, and all the arguments were the same: "arsonists started most of the fires" "the greenies don't let us backburn now, thats the problem" "the bush needs fire to regenerate"
all bullshit, all disproven. the evidence of a changing climate is obvious, how are people even arguing about this anymore? do the deniers have a secret second planet ready to go or what?
