The ACCC cannot force any business to carry another parties product. They would only be abusing their market position if they also published news articles and blocked every other news outlet.
Govt cannot shut them down in Australia as that would be against the FTA we have with USA. Govt and ISPs blocking illegal websites cannot be compared to a tech company running a legal business. If you dont like it then dont use it. But several million aussies do like it and will stay with it.
The nonsense generated by people suggesting journalists will not get paid is just nonsense. Newscorp make billions in revenue.
What is your view on companies such as newscorp putting their content behind a paywall (fine with me) but then double dipping by asking FB to also pay for it again. ?
