If this was a Kiwi company, the expansion would already be happening.
No way would it be happening. A state owned energy company wants to build a dam a bit further north and they are having problems getting resource consents. WCEN is opposing that as well. Pike River coal from what I can gather was not allowed to opencast mine so as to protect the environment and you know what happened there.
