re: ted bullpits The progress of WiMax is best followed through the Wirlpool website where users of it are now reporting the good and bad features of it. The downside at the moment is the speed which seems to slow down with distance and during peak periods. Whether this can be solved I do not know, but it shows that it isn't easy to keep the speed up via wireless. For the moment it will be hard to beat broadband on copper cable, ok if Telstra behaves itself. WiMax and other wireless options will be good for mobile users who do not require much speed. It may be a 2nd broadband choice together with a home based copper variant. We are probably due for a choppy period as the various types go into the market place.
