The market may not like it in the short term but look at Qantas now after they did similar. They are doing a stellar job and the company is doing better for it. Either increase your revenue or cut costs are the only way to increase profits. If the market is very competitive and revenue growth is very difficult when you already control a large part of the market share, cutting costs is the best way to deal with it.
