Having said so he introduced 3G, the only man who did anything meaningfully technologically.
Thodie was the great dead hand on this business, he should have cut the dividend but continued the rivers of gold to appease SHs and money that should have been diverted to grow the business was frittered away.
Thodie added NO VALUE to Telstra after Trujillo, he then handed the white elephant to Penn, feel for Penn somewhat but he was complicit in not cutting the expensive unaffordable dividends with no plans for growth in the offing. The ONLY thing Thodie can own is there were fewer outages under him.
Telstra will be the Myer of the Telecommunications group.
The NBN will be the other expensive white elephant that Australians will be burdened with, Cable is so yesterday just ask the Americans, Koreans hell even Indians and Chinese.
