Yes - I can imagine Bill Shorten, leader of a party representing "ordinary aussies", supporting a money grab from a giant foreign-run corporation (Vodafone) to the detriment of a company that most Aussies have a stake in either by direct share ownership or through their superannuation. Not only that, but making that decision and getting it through the cross bench, who are generally pretty Aussie-centric, anti-massive multinational, and to top it off it would be in defiance of an ACCC decision.
