No it's a different point. Boards in Australian can attract mid range talent (by world standards) only as they can pay mid range compensation (by world standards) only. If they were unshackled from the hysteria around CEO pay that pervades Australia then they wouldn't be trapped into mediocrity.
To say Telstra's current CEO is not worth the money he has been paid is a different point - equally valid.
