I switched to optus after being with telstra for years. Thought exactly the same thing regarding being gouged price wise. Within one month I was back with telstra. Could not get reception inside buildings in the CBS of Brisbane. Also on same main roads in Brissie and on the Pacific highway between Coolangatta and Byron. I demanded to get out of the optus contract and am happily back with the big T. At the end of the day, I want the thing to work everywhere. Happy to pay.
