    Telstra reviewing Sensis management.

    Published 7:06 AM, 12 Oct 2010

Speculation has arisen over a possible sale of Telstra's directories business, Sensis, after Telstra chief executive officer David Thodey told the Herald Sun his company was "looking at different management structures" for the subsidiary.

"We will always look at financial engineering to see what makes the best sense for shareholders," Mr Thodey told the Herald Sun.

Sensis, which publishes the White Pages and Yellow Pages, is currently run as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Meanwhile, the telco did not rule out further acquisitions, although it is seen unlikely to put forward any bids in the short term, according to the paper.

"We continue to look at all options about how we can profitably compete in that market," Mr Thodey said.

"There are a lot of ISPs out there ? the real issue is to ensure that if you've got what might be aggressive competition at the moment, you won't want to see that damaged on a longer term basis by over-aggressive acquisition."

Telstra shares ended 0.75 per cent higher at $2.68 yesterday, after chief executive officer David Thodey said the telco had a bright future, with or without the national broadband network.
