In their latest report on Telstra on 11 February RBS Morgans expect that the next dividend payment will increase from 14 cents to 16 cents. The total yearly dividend would rise from 28 cents in F/Y 2009 to 30 cents in F/Y 2010.
The reason for the increase in dividend is a lower capital expenditure requirement in 2010 and a strong boost in free cash flow as a result.
