I havent seen anything mentioning that or any information why lab results talking this long.

only thing i can think of they are cutting the core and taking small % of it to keep the main core intact for further reference points. It would explain why its taking so long n why the grades are so low plus 50% of the core is missing.

also they might be doing somthing different with a technical base maybe a new technology for loggoing the core n results in a data base to prove a better understanding of the system which is very heavy database.
