c79, volatility tends to increase into major lows (more so than into major highs imo). One measure which I posted about on the weekend is the ATR. Taking a look at the ATR on the XJO weekly, to more clearly see the key points, shows the ATR spiking and peaking into or during most of the major lows we've seen since the GFC. The volatility while higher than it has been for a while, certainly hasnt reached GFC levels...

PS: That trendline on the hourly looks like its not holding, so will be looking for a 2-candle reversal for it to pull back from here, or if not then probably testing recent lows again...
